Specialist practice for aesthetic dental restorations
Beautiful and healthy teeth – for a lifetime: thanks to modern all-ceramics, in our family practice in Constance and Bietingen, you have come to the right place for complex restorations.
A ceramic bridge is a fixed prosthesis made of zirconium and an esthetic ceramic. The bridge replaces missing teeth.
If one or more teeth are missing, neighboring teeth are used as abutments. They remain alive and healthy.
Dental bridges - closing a tooth gap
In contrast to a dental crown, a bridge sits on more than one tooth. The artificial denture is supported by the adjacent teeth to close a gap in the lower or upper jaw. It can be used to bridge one or more missing teeth.
If the adjacent teeth are healthy and meet the stability criteria, they are ground down as abutments for the dental bridge. The procedure for producing a suitable dental bridge as a dental prosthesis is similar to that for a crown.
The difference lies in the additional fabrication of a form and functionally appropriate centerpiece to replace the missing tooth. All materials that are used to form a dental crown can also be used for dental bridges. This means that the modern all-ceramic construction method used for crowns can also be used here.

Design options for dental bridges
Depending on which teeth in the mouth are available as bridge abutments, there are various fixing options.
If there are several gaps between teeth, the health of the remaining teeth and the position of the gaps in the jaw will determine whether a dental bridge restoration is possible. For example, it may be necessary to use dental implants to augment the abutment.
This is particularly important if the last teeth in the row of teeth are missing – the so-called free-end situation – or if the tooth structure is so damaged that a dental crown is out of the question. The health of the periodontium, i.e. the jawbone and gums, is also a prerequisite and may have to be achieved beforehand through appropriate treatment. Patients who have lost teeth due to periodontitis undergo treatment for their gum inflammation before the dental bridge is fitted. A dental prosthesis or denture should also be made, as the chewing movement counteracts the impending bone loss.
Here you can see dental implants, which are artificial tooth roots that are surgically inserted into the jawbone to replace a missing tooth.
The abutments are connecting pieces that are screwed onto the implants. They enable the dental crown or dental bridge to be attached and can be made individually from ceramic or titanium as required.
“Dental bridges are a proven solution for replacing missing teeth and restoring the functionality and aesthetics of your smile. They connect adjacent teeth and thus create a stable basis for a confident appearance.”

Frequently asked questions about dental bridges
How long do dental bridges last?
The durability of dental bridges depends primarily on the patient’s cooperation. With good care, they can last a lifetime. Our bridges are made of zirconium oxide and esthetic feldspar ceramic. According to the latest studies, 96% of dental bridges are still in place after 20 years.
How much do dental bridges cost?
Prices vary depending on the material, anatomical conditions and number of bridge abutments and gaps to be bridged. You can expect to pay around €1325 per ceramic crown. In a consultation, you will receive a cost estimate tailored to your needs with a fixed price guarantee, without any obligation.
How are dental bridges used?
Our all-ceramic dental bridges are usually cemented. In the case of dental bridges on implants, the “crown stumps” are screwed on depending on the type of implant, but the crown is then also cemented as with a living tooth.
How do you care for or clean dental bridges?
It is advisable to wait a few weeks (approx. 3 weeks) after cementing or inserting dental crowns or bridges until the gums have adapted to the new dental bridges. As soon as this happens, it is advisable to attend a dental hygiene appointment where the optimal “cleaning utensils”, e.g. interdental brushes, can be measured to ensure the best care.
