Certified specialist practice for implantology
Our practice is certified as an implantology specialist practice by the German Society for Implantology(DGI) and Germany’s oldest implant society for implantology, the DGZI. We carry out almost 1,000 dental implantations and bone augmentation operations (augmentations) on an outpatient basis every year.
The denture body is the visible part of the denture. It consists of various gum-colored and tooth-colored materials. It is designed to resemble the natural teeth and gums.
The denture also rests on the gums. After some time, a "relining" is necessary to ensure continued good retention.
Click systems: These make it easy to attach and remove the prosthesis.
Implant-supported prosthesis -
for a stable bite
An implant-supported prosthesis is a type of dental prosthesis in which two implants are usually inserted into the jawbone to create a stable base for a prosthesis.
Compared to conventional full dentures that rest on the gums, implant-supported dentures offer better stability and function. They make chewing and speaking easier and give a more natural appearance.
“The joy of seeing patients regain their ability to chew is undoubtedly one of the moments that makes you proud to be a dentist. This solution is uncomplicated and with our concept a very high-quality dental prosthesis for patients with severe tooth loss.”

Treatment procedure for implant-supported prostheses
Cost-effective initial examination and consultation
During initial examinations, the focus is on analyzing the problem and jointly deciding on the appropriate therapy.
Our dentists use innovative software to prepare the diagnosis visually and clearly for our patients. This enables us to work out a treatment offer with a fixed time and fixed cost plan together in the live planning with the DR.HAGER|fixed price guarantee.
This allows patients to discuss their decision with their family at home with all the printed drawings and pictures in the treatment folder.
The pre-treatment
In this step, everything is prepared for the insertion of the artificial tooth root, the implants. All inflammation, root remnants, unsuitable and harmful tooth remnants are removed. The aim is to ensure that the bone and gums are vital.
Now nothing stands in the way of inserting the implants. If necessary, a temporary prosthesis is made until the final prosthesis is completed.
The implantation
Our implantology specialists (DGZI-Specialist®) usually place the implants in just one surgical procedure. Due to the inflammation-free starting position created, painless surgery under local anesthesia is guaranteed for the entire treatment.
State-of-the-art instruments, devices and techniques are available. The implantologists have access to a 3D diagnostic tool with the latest 3D scanner and 3D X-ray technology (digital volume tomograph CB-CT). Up to 10 implantations take place in our practices every day. This guarantees a great routine.
The insertion
The DR. HAGER | Zahnlabor has now produced the ball head prosthesis by hand in the practice’s own laboratory. The day they are fitted is often a dream come true for patients. They finally have something solid to chew on again, possibly for a long time. The patient and dentist are equally pleased.
Last but not least, we recommend regular preventive care in the form of annual check-ups as well as the evidently important dental hygiene – as many times a year as the individual interval recommended by the dental hygienist.

Implant-supported prostheses
Caries and, in particular, inflammation of the gums(periodontitis) can mean that no tooth can be saved. This means that all teeth are lost. This is referred to as a toothless jaw.
For these patients, this results in an extreme loss of quality of life: a relaxed smile is no longer possible and chewing with pleasure and efficiency, as with their own teeth, is only a pipe dream. In such cases, a so-called full denture is still usually fabricated. Unfortunately, however, a good hold of the prosthesis in the mouth, especially in the upper jaw, can only rarely be achieved. This makes chewing a torture, as the loose prosthesis injures the gums and pain and pressure points are now part of everyday life. This solution is also unbearable for a self-confident lifestyle. Even the use of adhesive creams does not improve this situation in a desirable way.
The salvation is the use of dental implants. With just a few implants, an existing prosthesis can be fixed in the mouth in such a way that it remains securely in place when chewing and speaking – a new life begins.
We often design a palate-free replacement for maxillary dentures. This helps patients especially because of their sense of taste.
The so-called prosthesis shield fills the lips and gives patients a younger appearance. It also enables the artificial teeth to be anchored.
An existing prosthesis can be connected to the implants anchored in the jawbone in a very simple and reliable way using a clip mechanism (locator, ball anchor). After a clear click, there is no risk of movement or even loss of the prosthesis.
The DR.HAGER dentists can connect both existing dentures and new dentures with the push-button implant, in the upper jaw as well as in the lower jaw. The fabrication of new dentures makes sense if extensive modifications to the existing denture would be necessary anyway due to the poor fit. The new prosthesis is then also protected against breakage with a metal reinforcement. Our dental technicians also connect this metal reinforcement to the implant heads using a click connection. This creates a very durable solution that enables firm chewing.
As a rule, two titanium implants are placed in the jawbone per jaw, which can then be connected to the prostheses using the click method after a healing period of approx. 8 weeks.
Another solution: fixed teeth made of ceramic
A further increase in comfort, however, is the treatment of our edentulous patients with fixed ceramic teeth on dental implants anchored in the bone. For our edentulous patients, these implant-supported ceramic bridges mean a full restoration of the original row of teeth.
All wishes in terms of appearance, function and compatibility are fulfilled. Ceramic teeth have the same beautiful shimmer and optical structure as natural tooth enamel, and the appearance delights our patients as well as our dentists and dental technicians.
And the function is so perfect that after a certain period of familiarization, the anchoring on the dental implants is simply no longer felt. No wonder, we like to call this perfect restoration the DR.HAGER highlight, because this is our specialty.
This type of restoration represents a top performance in the collaboration between our surgeons, prosthetic dentists, dental technicians and, last but not least, our entire clinic team. Thanks to the routine fabrication processes, we can recommend our patients a predictable successful treatment for this demanding oral situation.
Cleaning dentures
How should dentures be cleaned?
Ideally, you should clean your dentures by hand over a sink (place a small towel underneath in case you drop your dentures). Take a toothbrush and clean your denture without using any cleaning agent (if it is very dirty, use washing-up liquid from the kitchen). Then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and dry.
If patients have implant ball anchors or teeth still present, do not forget to clean them with a normal toothbrush. Even a toothless jaw has fewer bacteria if the gums are cleaned with a soft brush. Caution: Powder cleaners/cleaning tablets attack the surface and dull the denture. If tartar deposits are present, the denture can be cleaned in a special ultrasonic bath in the dental practice.
Cleaning dentures
How efficient is the cleaning of dentures with ultrasonic devices?
There are also small ultrasonic devices on the market. These are very effective for prophylactic cleaning. However, once a lot of tartar has built up, it sometimes has to be removed in the dental laboratory. However, you can bring your dentures with you for cleaning and have them cleaned by us. You do not need your own ultrasonic device.
Denture
Do I need special brushes and toothpaste to clean my dentures?
A standard toothbrush is sufficient. As the denture should be cleaned with normal detergent, a separate toothbrush should be available.
Denture
How often should the denture be cleaned?
You should rinse the denture with water after every meal and clean it with a soft toothbrush at least in the morning and evening.
Denture
Why should dentures be cleaned at all?
If too much food residue, tartar or a bacterial film builds up on the denture, this can lead to severe inflammation of the mucous membrane or even fungal infestation of the mucous membrane. This is why denture cleaning is so important for your general health.
Denture
What helps with inflamed areas on the gums when wearing dentures?
As this could be a pressure point, we recommend making an appointment at the practice as soon as possible. Because this mechanical irritation does not go away on its own. Do not wait longer than 2-3 days if it gets worse.

Problems with dentures – when should you visit the dentist?
It is advisable to make an appointment directly at the practice, as this could be a problem that can be counteracted directly if you act quickly. link online appointment

Frequently asked questions about implant-supported prostheses
I still have some good teeth, do they have to be extracted first?
No, all healthy and fixed teeth can be used for the construction. Here, the decades of experience of our specialists are helpful in assessing the most sensible and sustainable solution. Every case is different, so general comparisons and planning statements are not helpful.
Is a removable construction better or a fixed one?
The type of restoration, the extent of the surgical procedure and also the costs are decisive for the most sensible design, depending on the requirements and the prevailing problem. However, the greatest benefit is provided by fixed bridges on teeth and implants.
Will I be able to eat and speak normally again?
Yes, after a certain period of familiarization, there is no noticeable difference between normal teeth and implant-supported dentures or bridges.
Can't you clearly see the new teeth on dental implants from a distance? Does it look good?
Thanks to the dedicated work and perfected skills of all team members, we achieve good aesthetics even in difficult situations. All-ceramic crowns and digital support for surgical and manual work improve the effectiveness of implant-supported fixed and removable prostheses and bridges. Thanks to the in-house dental laboratory and in cooperation with the dentists, a particularly individual design with high aesthetics can be achieved.
How often do I have to come to the practice for such treatment?
As a rule, even complex treatments with dental implants and bone augmentation for severely damaged jawbones can be completed in around 3-4 sessions, whether fixed dentures or implant-supported prostheses. However, 2 appointments are often sufficient for a definitive restoration with implants.
